GET TO KNOW ME!

Hello! My name is Alheamina, people usually call me Alhea. Currently an undergraduate student at Universitas Indonesia, majoring in Psychology. Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. Growing up, my parents have always tried their best to prevent us from living in a bubble, to engage in active learning, and to have broad perceptions. They made sure we explored the world and lived our best lives.
At 16, I moved 18,800 km away from home to Costa Rica for high school at the United World College of Costa Rica. It was one of the best 2 consecutive years of my life <3 My parents have been dreaming of traveling the world by car; therefore, in 2019, we decided to fulfill it. We've traveled through 17 countries from Indonesia to Germany, in 100 days, with 6 passengers: my parents, my 2 siblings, my grandma, and me.
Who would've thought a 13-year-old would learn so much in 100 days, compared to all her life, starting from how to hand-wash all her clothes in the desert to how to communicate with locals in Pakistan with no Google Translate.
I wish to share more to my community of my traveling stories, inspire more people to seek the truth, take more risks, and get out of their comfort zones. The experiences I've had didn't just give me interesting or unique stories; they changed me. They taught me how to see beyond borders, beyond stereotypes, and beyond what an algorithm determines how I should perceive.
So if you're into unique adventures, honest reflections, and a deeper look at the world, stick around!! 🌎✨
The Origins
It all started as my Year 9 Culminating Project, tackling the topic: "Why Social Media is NOT 100% Accurate". For the project, I wanted to break the stigma by showing people that the places we're often told are "dangerous" or "off-limits" aren't always what they seem to be. In reality, some of these places ended up being my favorite countries, like Iran, Pakistan, and Myanmar.
There has been a lot of noise on social media - fake news, rumors, algorithms, false headlines -- often shared for clout, monetization, or more drama. I realized that after I experienced traveling, I was able to clear out all the stigma for my own. I've understood that the truth is out there, and it is up to us to go & seek it.
